COMMUNITY ORGANIZING

We first came together during the pain felt around the nation following George Floyd's death. We knew it was important to come together as a community to mourn the loss of not just George Floyd, but the thousands of Black lives that have been lost to racial violence. Along with several members of the community, we had a hand in organizing the Berkeley Heights March for Black Lives, and you heard our voices as several of the young speakers. We were moved by the solidarity that was shown that day, and the commitment that our fellow residents made to addressing racial injustice in our town, and nationwide, but that doesn't mean we're stopping there. In line with the rallying cry of "no justice, no peace", heard around the nation, we believe that this is just the beginning. As we emerge from the coronavirus pandemic, we hope to work with key stakeholders in town to continue organizing events that both educate and engage our community members in the ongoing fight for justice.
